The Rink in Grand Forks (which is more recently a carpet store). Its

This has to be by far, the worst and perhaps smallest rink I have ever
skated at, and I've been to about 200-250 rinks in my time. This rink
was very small, extremely narrow and still had 11 wooden posts running
down the center of the floor to hold the building up. I think it may
have been a barn or a horse stable, it has that wierd a configuration.
The floor is concrete, extremely bumpy, cracked and coated with paint
and rust.
I only skated for about 15 minuts and didn't dare turn around. However,
the rink owner was very pleasant and we talked for a couple of hours on
rink operation. Even though the rink was horrendous, he said he usually
had a lot of business because he was out in the middle of nowhere and
there was nothing else to do.
I do not recommend this rink and think it should have been shut down!

The Rollerdome is an winter stadium concourse skating event sponsored by
Rollerblade(tm) and other in-line organizations. The season runs through
March, with skating in a nearly daily basis. There are two concourse
levels of the H.H. Humphrey Metrodome open for skating, one is reserved
for adults only. The skating entrance is at 5th Street and 11th Avenue.
Both in-line and conventional skates are permitted and in-line rentals
and safety gear are available.
The event is sponsored by Rollerblade Inc and some or all of the proceeds
benefit the March of Dimes.

The John Rose Minnesota OVAL is the largest outdoor multipurpose skating
facility in the western hemisphere. Located in the Minneapolis/St.Paul
suburb of Roseville, the facility has 110,000 square feet of skating
surface providing a variety of year round skating opportunities for
training, competition and daily public skating.
The OVAL is also an active venue from April to October as the rapidly
growing sport of in-line skating becomes the focus of activity! The
smooth concrete skating surface provides public skating sessions,
instruction, racing, stunt areas, and roller hockey opportunities in
a safe, supervised area.

I have gone to Roller Garden in St Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis,
the times I have been in town (2x). I noticed a general slump in the rink,
with a big cut in the adult sessions, due to the recession and the inline
craze. I had a good time there in 1989 or so and a pretty lackluster time
when I went back in 1994.
