Baked Creamed Succatash

Ingredients

Sauce Ingredients:
- 5 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of onion, minced
- 1/2 cup of celery, minced
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/8 teaspoon of pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1-1/2 cups of milk

Other Ingredients:
- 1 (10 ounce) package of frozen green lima beans
- 1 (10 ounce) package of frozen cut corn
- 1/4cup of bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Saute the onions and celey in 3 tablespoons of the butter until they are golden.

Stir in in the flour salt, pepper and basil.

Whisk in the milk Cook and stir until the mixture thickens.

Mix the corn and lima beans in a lightly buttered shallow 1-1/2 quart casserole or other baking dish.

Pour the thickened milk sauce over the beans and corn and mix lightly. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter then mix it with the bread crumbs and cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the dish.

Bake at 375 degrees F for about 30 minutes.
