Meatball Stew

An online recipe with instructions for making Meatball Stew.

Ingredients

- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 (8 ounce) cans of tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, quartered
- 1 cup of water
- 1 package of frozen green beans or peas (optional)

Instructions

Combine beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, Worcestershire, and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Mix and shape into balls.

Brown meat balls in oil and drain excess fat.

Place vegetables, water, salt, and remaining tomato sauce in covered pot and simmer 1 hour.

Stir occasionally.

OPTIONAL:
If peas or green beans are used in this recipe it's best to add them near the end and only cook them until they are tender.

VARIATION:
Substitute dry red wine and beef broth for some or all of the tomato sauce and water.
