- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- 2 cups of milk
Melt the butter in a saucepan.
Add the flour and keep cooking and stirring until the mixture is bubbley but does not start turning brown. (this cooking step and timing is important to remove the raw flour taste from the sauce)
Add the two cups of milk and cook, stirring constantly to prevent lumps, unti the sauce is thick and smooth.
