- thin Abalone slices, pounded for tenderization
- soda cracker crumbs
- 1 whole egg, beaten
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
- butter for frying
Pound abalone with a wooden mallet or the side of a saucer to tenderize.
Mix cracker crumbs with salt and pepper to taste.
Dip each abalone steak in beaten egg, then coat well with cracker crumbs.
Melt butter in a frying pan and saute the coated abalone slices until tender and lightly browned.
